The first step in controlling a population and installing a communist/socialist society is controlling the media and information available to the public. If you watch closely, it's plain to see that Republicans want this bill passed badly so they can begin their fascist rul …
Yes, I realize that President Obama was opposed to the war in Iraq and I am aware that he did everything he could to undermine the mission there, but I believe the President deserves some credit for seeing the error of his ways once he got into office. I applaud him for st …

The real scandal is how journalists pick and choose which controversies to play up and which to play down.
What a story.....and a solid reason to vote by mail I suppose.
While unions spent over $25 million scaring people into thinking their house would burn down if they voted yes on Issue 2, the biggest story, in my humble opinion was how the voters of Ohio overwhelmingly said "NO THANKS" to Obamacare at the polls. Now Democrats must find a …

Isn't it ironic that the gentleman leading the charge for tax increases, hasn't even paid the taxes he already owes? Perhaps if Mr.
Herman has been on a whirlwind tour of the country for Tax Day, participating in more Tea Party rallies than any other potential presidential candidate.
As I prepared for our Good Friday Service this week, a few things came to me that I think I have always known, but suddenly took on new meaning for me. So I wanted to write these things down and share them with fellow believers.

As I review all the potential candidates for the Republican nomination, there is one person that stands out from all the rest. One person with the experience to step forward and lead our nation back to greatness.
Want a peek into the talking points strategy of Democrats to try and smear the GOP … look no further than Senator Charles Schumer's (D-NY) and his gaffe of inadvertently letting the cat out of the bag and telling others to call Republicans extremists while he thought the medi …

After reading several articles written by blacks here on the vine, explaining why blacks can't achieve, I felt it would be good for everybody to see examples of success by blacks and have them explain how they did it.
The current prices in your grocery store don't signal an approaching storm, but that's exactly what's coming, says Bill Lapp, the former chief economist for ConAgra Foods, who is now the president of Advanced Economic Solutions, a consulting firm in Omaha, Neb.
There are so many smaller towns and villages along the coastline in Japan, many without sea walls protecting them. We haven't heard the worst of this disaster yet and I fear many of these smaller towns and villages are completely gone, along with their residents.

Progressives always trumpet they are looking out for the 'little guy.' Yet, their actions show it is the 'little guy' who always gets hurt the most by their agenda. Obama's 'skyrocketing' cost of energy would hurt the poor and elderly the most.
I remember a few years ago when gas prices rose as high as they are now, news report after news report telling me how Bush and Cheney were to blame. So here we are again, similar situation.....and I wonder who Newsvine blames for our current situation?

I am just curious how this will come out? Before answering the question, just think back to your last visit to the license bureau to get your drivers license or your last visit to the Post Office. Remember how friendly and helpful those public employees were?

While the mainstream media loves to rhapsodize about Barack Obama's Remarkable Journey™ what deserves more attention is the psychology of the man who is now the most powerful person in the world.
Obama's latest quarterly score of 48.8% is below average by historical standards, ranking in the 35th percentile of all presidential quarters for which Gallup has data, dating to 1945. The average historical quarterly approval average is 54%.
Obama defenders will try to claim that the numbers do not include spending on Iraq and Afghanistan during the Bush years. They most certainly do. While Bush did fund the wars through emergency supplementals (not the regular budget process), that spending did not simply vanish.
The flood-the-zone coverage of President Obama’s fake evolution on gay marriage and the obsession with Mitt Romney’s high school years have revived the “media are in the tank for Obama” complaints from conservatives. To that there are two responses: 1 …

Hey Common Sense Mike! Where ya been hiding? Appears the Warrior took a siesta and hung up his bow and arrows for what I hope is a short while. Have missed reading your common sense comments. I know the battle can get pretty thick in here sometimes. Hope all is well with you and your family.

My dear Sir: I had typed a lengthy comment to you, and for some reason it disappeared - I assume to my little finger, right hand, inadvertently hit the wrong key, but maybe not. Let me try this again - short version. I am a christian - female 66 - played for church for 30 years- retired professor of psychology. I will not argue/debate my spiritual belief with any one. Churches are big business for the most part. Separation of church and state - TAX churches income and real estate period. During this election year I have seen God's name drug through every pile of dirt and scum that exists. I did NOT vote this year - no difference in the two parties. Washington filled with liars, thieves, perverts and a killer or two thrown in for good measure. Religion scares me, spirituality inspires me.
If we so called "christians" would live in the manner God has instructed there would be no need for us to rant and rave in the political arena, much less argue/debate our belief. Others could see we are "different", we would not have to explain it to them over and over again. I made one post on the "study". Salvation is a gift not to be shoved at any one. I can NOT bring myself to argue with those who refuse to believe in my Lord and Master. There is enough communication in this world today if one has not been told about my Lord, they are deaf and dumb. What I have read on newsvine tells me to argue/debate my belief is quite like wiping my arse on a ring - just smears it round and round to no avail.
In my field I was confronted with all kinds of people - belief, non-belief, love, hatred, judges of others, the list is endless. I can honestly say, I do not have any prejudiced bones in me - NO "isims". Even with regards to homosexuals - I do not believe God makes mistakes. We christians have called them every thing but human beings. These people are born with differences in hormones and chemical makeup. NOW, they can not change their feelings, but they can chose not to exercise them. Babies are born into this world that are asexual - God made them too - again NO mistakes.
We do not have the brain capacity to see God's reasons for most things, but I am blessed with the faith of a small child and believe God has a reason for absolutely every thing, and every person. You and I have taxation without representation - accept that. If we had true elections in this country we would have one person, one vote. For that reason I do not stick my nose in politics at the federal, state or local level. Another exercise in futility. Churches need to tell more about the love of God, and less about hell and it's fury. Too many pastors try to "scare" people into Heaven - won't work.
I will close with this. As a child of 7, I took note of so many of our pastors taking up an hour explaining to the congretation God "has call me to", such and such church. I thought about that from age 5 when I started paying piano for our little church. One Sunday, this had happened again. After church adults were in a group visiting - I was the only child there. There was a lull in the conversation, at which time I piped up and stated: "Did you all notice God never calls our preachers to a smaller church?" My mother nearly fainted, and needless to say I got that "whoopin" when we arrived home. I refused to cry and that made her more angry. I explained to her I had stated the truth, but that didn't lessen her temper with me. I would truly have understood if the preacher had stated he could not feed and take care of his family on the salary our church was able to pay - at that age, I was posting my father's books in his lumber and hardware store. I understood money. I know this will seem like the ramblings of an old lady - but I pray you will understand you can not fix ignorance and dumb. No one will ever win most debates/arguments - they are useless for the most part. May God's richest blessings be yours. God keeps the night watch for you and for me. God's blessed word is falling on too many deaf ears.
Mike,
Thanks for accepting my friend request. I've read some of your articles and comments and I fell like I could learn a lot from you.
Thanks for the add

Keep fighting the good fight Mike!
I would think there is a huge difference between reporting that Obama was listed as Muslim on his School records, and showing video of his pastor for 20 years spewing racial hatred, and reporting rumors from blogs where idiots just make stuff up. Reporting the crap in these blogs as if it's fact is wrong and one would think that the media would already be tired of having to print retractions every day because of a Palin story they ran earlier.
Oh, you mean like the nonsense rumors being spread about Obama being a muslim, that he doesn't salute the flag, that he is a racist...goes both ways buddy!
